This is Dr. Andy Donnelley. He uses PharMEDium and was nice enough to let us take his picture. Look at the confident and tasteful way he holds the IV bag. You just can't teach that.
The first step was to build a catalog of images that could be used in brochures, direct mail and other media. Our art director (Michael) and a photographer (Stu) were sent to PharMEDium's compounding facility in Mississippi where they took hundreds of photographs of ...themselves (that's Stu on the left).
These are PharMEDium employees, wearing the gowns, hairnets and facemasks required by USP Chapter 797. Does USP Chapter 797 also require a steely look of determination? No, that's a bonus only PharMEDium can offer.
We call this shot the "Flying V" because the people in it are standing in a V-shape. No, they are not literally flying. In this context, flying is a metaphor.
This is the "Bee Mailer". We chose the bee because the mailer promotes a line of syringes. See, we assumed the syringes had needles, which are a lot like bee stingers. Turns out the syringes don't have needles. But still, look at that bee!
We call this the "Butterfly Mailer". If you have to ask why, then you really don't know a lot about bugs. Anyway, the piece was designed to promote a color-coded labeling system for IV bags and other compounded products. By using images not usually associated with the pharmaceutical industry, we found a way to succinctly describe the product's benefit while assuring the mailer would stand out amid the piles of mail PharMEDium's customers receive. Doesn't nature rock?
PharMEDium was so enamored of the photo of Stu and Michael that they let us throw verisimilitude to the wind and use it on the cover. One caveat: Michael's sideburns had to be airbrushed out.
When PharMedium launched their online ordering service, we wanted the announcement mailer to instantly stand out and convey that web ordering was about empowering pharmacists to be stronger, faster and more heroic. Our intern Kyle served as our superhero model.
This is PharMEDium's booth. We used the triangle in the logo as a feature on the podiums and made good use of the existing photography to give life to the booth graphics. As you can see, we used a lot of wood because wood communicates quality. What else communicates quality? You guessed it: carpet.
We also designed packaging for a PharMEDium DVD that is being used by sales representatives for presentation to prospective clients. The DVD was produced by Film & Tape Works, a Chicago-based film production company.
